HOWTO Easy DVD-Ripping In Linux With K3b
There is many ways to rip dvd in linux with transcode, mencoder, dvd:rip etc.,
but the easiest way for me is with K3b.
You need version 1.0_rc or better.
1. Install k3b (if you don't have it).
On gentoo:
USE=encode emerge -av k3b
On Debian/Ubuntu:
apt-get install k3b
2. Start k3b
You can start it from any terminal or run (Alt+F2) and type
k3b
3. Ripping
Tools->Rip Video DVD

4. Choose video and audio codecs options

5. Start ripping

Gentoo amd64 fresh install

Last weekend I migrate to gentoo amd64. My old gentoo installation was from the end of 2004. And it was working to the end, but because cannot be ubgraded from x86 to amd64 i had to delete it. I install the new gentoo with the GUI installer, i never was used it before.
It is good but i got error in creating of the user accounts, and i continue installation by hand.
The first packages which I installed was X, fluxbox, mp3blaster, opera and licq.
Now i am happy Gentoo ~amd64 user.
